1st Church Media Policy

Our Media Ministries department is the center hub for all Church communication, providing access to information via print, visual and social media resources. All publications must go through our Media Ministries office for approval prior to printing.

Our Church bulletin is printed once per week for Sunday services, while our newsletter, The Chimes, is an opt-in monthly publication sent via email and hard copy. It is also available online through our website. From time to time, you will receive the email blast concerning special announcements and events. We also offer a weekly video announcements during services and slides prior to and following all three services.
All requests for announcements, event promotion and inclusion in one of our publications, please fill out the Media Ministry Request form for our Media Ministries department. This form is available in a fill in version for you to fill out, print and drop off at our Media Ministries Office located in Life Center, room 1.

Publication Deadlines

Bulletin Announcements:

  • The deadline is Tuesday by 5:00 pm
  • Event Announcements require advanced notice – Minimum of two weeks prior to event date
  • Events Announcements with deadline – Minimum of two weeks prior to deadline date.

Chimes Articles & Announcements:

  • The deadline is the 15th of the month before publication.
  • The word limit is 500 words
  • All articles are to be emailed to mediaministry@whatis1st.com in a Word doc file.
  • Items are accepted on a space available basis, and are subject to editing
  • Pictures must be provided by email or on a flash drive

Announcement Slides:

  • Design is at editor’s discretion
  • Deadline for information is the same for Bulletin announcements.

Video Announcements

Events to be included are selected by Media Director, Pastor and Admin Director

Other Publications*:

Press Release – Thursday of the week prior to desired publication week

Flyers/Posters/Outside Advertisements – require meeting with Media Ministries Coordinator to discuss design layout and printing.

*Please note – charges may apply to cover outside advertising, as well as in-house printing and material costs.

The Media Ministries Coordinator reserves the right to refuse, edit and change submissions as needed.
