We welcome you to 1st Church.

Whether you are a new believer, new resident, or looking for a permanent church home, the decision of where to worship is an important one. Many questions might flood your mind: How will I fit in? Do they worship in a way I want to worship? Will the music be too traditional, to rocky, or just right? Do they have something for my kids or my teens? The goal of 1st Church is to make you feel like you have come home. A place where you can bring your burdens and requests. A place where you feel you have a family ready and waiting to welcome you with open arms. To help you learn more about 1st Church, we would like to answer some of your most frequently asked questions.

What Worship Experience is Right for Me?

1st Church offers three worship options:
  • Praise in the Park at Gilchrist Park every Sunday at 8 am. We invite you to come gather to worship God and enjoy His beautiful creation on the banks of the Peace River in Punta Gorda. Gilchrist Park is located at 400 W Retta Esplanade, Punta Gorda
  • Contemporary Worship is a relaxed atmosphere for all ages featuring our Praise Band leading us in worship with music selections from artists like Bethel, Hillsong, Chris Tomlin, Matthew West and more. We invite you to come as you are, and worship with us every Sunday at 9:15 am in our Life Center. Youth Sunday school, Children’s Worship and Nursery are available for your children and teens.
  • Traditional Worship provides worshippers with a more structured service, with special music by our Director of Music Ministries, our Chancel Ringers and members of our talented congregation. This service is currently held in our Life Center at 11 am every Sunday, with doors opening at 10:40.
It is our hope you will feel at home when you visit 1st Church. Worship with the 1st Church family is our visible expression of praise to God. We believe Christ-centered fellowship, along with music and scripture focused messages are meant to inspire and encourage our Church family throughout the week. Communion is offered to all believers every 1st Sunday of the month. If our staff or volunteers can help you in any way, please do not hesitate to let us know.
