  • Offering Envelopes – Your 2020 Offering Envelopes are available for pickup in the Life Center Lobby.  If you have not received a box of envelopes, or would like  information about automatic withdrawal or online giving, please call our business office and we will be happy to assist you.
  • Men’s Fellowship Dinner – Just a reminder that today is the deadline to RSVP for the Men’s Fellowship Dinner on Tuesday, January 21 at 6 pm in the Life Center. Cost for the dinner is $12. Please RSVP by responding to the email invitation, or contacting Wayne Sharp at sharpww@me.com or 612.867.3017. Everyone is invited to come hear the speakers at around 6:40 pm.
  • United Christian Women’s Game Day – Game Day is Saturday, February 8 from 1 pm until 4 pm in the Life Center. Everyone is welcome, so come with a group or make new friends. Tickets are $7 with desserts and beverages included.  Tickets continue to be on sale today at the Gazebo in our main parking lot.
  • Marriage Covenant Couples – If you are celebrating 50+ years or an anniversary that is a multiple of five in 2020, please provide a wedding photo and current photo to Christa at christa@whatis1st.com. You may also bring them to her in LC1 Tuesday thru Thursdays during her office hours.
  • Join our Media Ministry Team – We are expanding to include a video camera team for our Life Center and slides team for both the Life Center and Sanctuary. Training will be provided for both areas, and no experience is necessary.   • Marriage Covenant Reception & Church Council – Our annual Marriage Covenant Renewal services will be February 16 in all three services. Following the 11 am service, we will honor all of our couples with a special reception and photo session. We will have a light lunch and cake, followed by our Church Council meeting as well.  This is a great opportunity to celebrate our couples, and attend the Church Council meeting as well. We’ll see you there!
  • Read Thru the Bible in 2020 – The 5-Day chronological 52 week Bible Reading Program, and 5x5x5 program 52 week New Testament Reading program booklets are available at our entrances or visit whatis1st.com/biblereading2020 to print them at home. If you need assistance finding the schedules, please let us know.
  • A Memorial Service – A memorial service will be held in honor of our friend and brother in Christ, David Moorhead, on Saturday, February 1 at 11 am in the Sanctuary.  A reception luncheon will follow the service in the Fellowship Hall.
  • Media Request Forms – The new Media Request form for 2020 is now available in print form on the outside of our Media Ministries Office, LC1.  Completed forms may be returned to LC1 during Christa’s office hours or placed in the lower mailbox on her door.
  • 2020 Confirmation Class Our 2020 Confirmation class will begin on February 2 at 9:15 am. This class is open to any student in 7th – 12th grade.  This class will teach students what our church believes and how that applies to life as a teenage follower of Christ. This class is the pathway to church membership for students under 18 years of age. This is also a great way for students to solidify beliefs and confirm their faith in Christ alone for salvation. To register, please contact Tim Buck, 941.276.9264 or tim@whatis1st.com.
  • Teen Guys/Girls in Fellowship AKA TGIF – Teen guys and girls in grades 6th thru 12th are invited to join TGIF in a 12-week study on apologetics starting Sunday, February 9 at 3:30 pm in room 5 in the Life Center. The apologetics study will equip students to clearly and effectively understand, explain and defend their Christian faith. Special guest teachers and pastors will challenge students to think critically and be prepared to respond, as a Christian, to worldviews they encounter.   • Teen outing – Everblades Game – Any students wishing to attend the Florida Everblades Ice Hockey game with our youth group this coming Saturday, January 25, must have their 2020 Consent Form notarized and returned to us by this Wednesday at 5 pm. The current form can be found on our website, whatis1st.com/youth. There are a limited number of reserved seats so please contact our Director of Youth Ministries, Tim Buck today if you wish to join us.  
  • Providing for Our Mothers of Preschoolers Group – We are looking for a few experienced moms to provide meals for our MOPS group once a month. For more information on how you can help, please fill out the Connect Card or email mops@whatis1st.com.
  • Shower Ministry Needs- Men: jeans, cargo and basketball shorts size 28 thru 40, smaller size pants/shorts, small thru XL T-shirts, tennis shoes and sandals and socks – new in package. Women: elastic waist pants, stretchy jeans, 2X pants, 2X shirts, tennis shoes and sandals, size C and D bras and light weight blankets. Bins are in the Fellowship Hall for your donations.
  • Larry Ford in Concert – On February 14, Larry Ford will return for a special Valentine’s Day concert at 7 pm in the Life Center. A featured soloist on the Gaither Homecoming DVD series, Larry is a Grammy award winning vocalist, who has traveled the globe sharing the gospel through song.  This concert is free to the public with a love offering to be taken.
