• Town Hall Meeting Today – Join us in the Fellowship Hall today at 3 pm for another Town Hall meeting, as Pastor Mike continues to update us on the status of the United Methodist Church Impasse.  If you have not attended any of our past Town Hall Meetings, we encourage you to attend.
  • Lenten Luncheon Series – Our community Lenten Luncheon series begins this Wednesday, March 4 at 12 pm in the Sanctuary for a time of worship and prayer with a special message from guest speaker, Rev. Jay Mumper. A light lunch will be provided following the service in our Fellowship Hall.  Everyone is invited to attend.
  • Yard Sale Donations  Donations are being accepted this week through Thursday for our Youth Yard Sale.  All items can be dropped off in room 7 of the Life Center from 8 am until 3 pm. If you have any questions, please contact Tim Buck, 941.639.3842, x 221 or tim@whatis1st.com.
  • Youth Yard Sale – Calling all Yard Sale lovers, this is the sale for you! This Friday, March 6, is our Exclusive Sale for 1st Church family only.  The Life Center doors will open at 6 pm until 8 pm, where you will have a first look at all the great deals available. On Saturday, March 7, the Yard Sale will be open to the public, starting at 9 am. Please make sure to let your friends and family know.  Stop by to stock up on some amazing bargains and help our students raise funds for summer camp! Thank you!
  • Purple Passion Project – The  Purple Passion Project continues this week through Palm Sunday.  Special purple envelopes are available at all entrances of the Life Center and Historic Sanctuary. All offerings received through the Purple Passion Project will fund the Youth’s Mission trips to Madison Youth Ranch & Cincinnati, Ohio.
  • Outreach Opportunity – The Pregnancy Careline Center Annual Gala is this Tuesday, March 3 at the Charlotte Harbor Event and Conference Center at 5:30 pm. Serving Charlotte County for over 35 years they provide loving no-cost pregnancy help to women wherever they are on the pregnancy journey.   • A Message From Staff Parish – It is our pleasure to welcome Jordan Flick as our new Director of Children’s Ministries at 1st Church. Staff Parish would like to invite “all y’all” to join us as we officially welcome Jordan to our 1st Church staff family with a reception next Sunday, March 8, after our 11 am service in the Fellowship Hall.
  • Join us for the Children’s Home Day on Campus!  –  Visit the children at the Florida United Methodist Children’s Home on March 28. Tour the campus, meet residents and see one of our missions in person. Cost is $33 per person and you must reserve your seat by calling 941.639.3842 by March 16.  Scholarships are available.
  • 2020 Flower Calendar – Fresh flowers are on our altars each Sunday to the glory of God and to enhance our worship experience. You may reserve a specific Sunday to donate them in memory of or in honor of loved ones for only $60 for two arrangements.   • Save the Date! – Ladies, mark your calendars and don’t miss our Spring Luncheon on Saturday, March 21 at 11:30 am in the Life Center. Our special guests will be our You Heard it Here 1st Video Production team – Christa Villarose & Dennis Dees! They will explain the production side of video announcements and present the world premiere of the 2019 You Heard it Here 1st Blooper Reel. Tickets are on sale for $15 at the gazebo.
  • Easter Candy – It’s time to collect Easter Candy donations. Bins are in the Fellowship Hall for your donations. We greatly appreciate your continued support of our Children’s programs!

  • Children’s Home Donations – We will be collecting items for our Day on Campus visit on March 28.  Donation lists and bins are available in the Fellowship Hall. Thank you for helping us continue our support of the Florida United Methodist Children’s Home!
  • Youth Mission Trip Applications are Available – This July our youth group will be traveling to Cincinnati, Ohio for their 8 day mission work. These student missionaries will each serve with a different ministry or non-profit organization in the greater Cincinnati area.   Teens currently in grades 7 and up who wish to serve must return their application by March 29.  
  • Teen Guys and Girls In Fellowship Guest Speaker – Pastor Earl Smith will be the guest teacher at TGIF today and March 22, from 3:30 pm to 4:45 pm in LC5. Pastor Earl will be teaching about the existence of God and His revelation to the world. All teens in grades 6 to 12 are invited to join us for this valuable apologetics lesson.
  • Listen to Him – All Church Lenten Bible Study – Listening to Jesus is our highest calling to the lowest place where we discover our lives transformed and our worst days breaking forth into our best life. Listen to Him is our Lenten Bible Study this year for 2020.  Books are available for $10 in the Church office and Mary’s office, rm 14 during the week.
